Ignore it if you’d like
But the smoke is merely
The precursor
If you continue to ignore
The hell knocking
On your door
You think you can handle
The silver man
You think the fire in his eyes
Is benign
But that billow in your belly
Speaks truth to you
Better find the source
Of the flames
He’s burning your world
He’s begging you to read
His warning signs.
But you ignore him
You ignore the
Smoke filled phlegm
Pooling in the back of your throat.
Who will you cry to when
It’s too late and
You are but a pile of ash?
